Stage Names
- One of the most beautiful things to watch is a dancer who is moving solely in the moment. To achieve this state of focus the dancer may expands her energies to become someone bigger, more dramatic than her normal persona. Sometimes a dancer will draw herself in, dancing within her body truly in the moment. Other times she takes on a persona outside herself. On these occasions the dancer often performs under a "stage name". When some of our students asked about stage names, we put a list together for reference. If you are not sure how to choose try find a name with the same meaning as your own. Or you could try picking something a little more exotic. Enjoy experimenting.
