What style?
At Bellyup, we teach two different styles of bellydance, traditional/Oriental (what most people think of when they think bellydance) and FCBD/Tribal style (a modern form of bellydance where dancers learn a 'vocabulary' of dance combinations using cues to dance together). In our traditional classes, we teach you the moves through choreography, not just endless drilling. This means that when you go home from your very first class, you will already be able to put together a number of moves! Likewise, FCBD style will have you dancing combinations from the very first class. We teach using the FCBD format where a leader uses cues and the other dancers follow, this makes every performance unique. Who can dance?Anyone!
Our students have ranged in age from 6 to 83. We have women of all shapes and sizes, and have taught students with varying degrees of mobility. |
