What style?
At Bellyup, we teach two different styles of bellydance, traditional/Oriental (what most people think of when they think bellydance) and FCBD/Tribal style (a modern form of bellydance where dancers learn a 'vocabulary' of dance combinations using cues to dance together).

In our traditional classes, we teach you the moves through choreography, not just endless drilling. This means that when you go home from your very first class, you will already be able to put together a number of moves!

Likewise, FCBD style will have you dancing combinations from the very first class. We teach using the FCBD format where a leader uses cues and the other dancers follow, this makes every performance unique.

Who can dance?

Anyone!
Our students have ranged in age from 6 to 83.
We have women of all shapes and sizes, and have taught students with varying degrees of mobility.

7 - 8pm:   (Please note that the first class of term 2 will be at 8pm on Monday 24th April, due to ANZAC Day)
Continuing with Bec - Salam Ulhob

FCBD®️ Style (ATS/Tribal):
Wednesday
6:30pm - 7:30pm
Level 1 (beginners) with Katrina

This class is aimed at introducing the basics of tribal (Level 1) to beginner dancers, and introducing finger cymbals (zills). In this style of dance, you only need to remember short combinations, not a full length choreography!

7:30pm - 8pm
‘Flow’ session*  with Katrina/Bronwyn
This is a facilitated improvisational dance session where dancers can put into practice the movements and skills they have learned during classes. All dancers are met at their level and nurtured to grow as part of the group.
Minimum of one term experience of FCBD style group improvisation classes required.

8pm - 9pm
Level 2 (continuing) with Bronwyn
Build on your movement vocabulary learned in Level 1.
This class will not only teach you new (Level 2) moves but will also show you variations on moves you already know.
